Streaming Web Conferences

The emergence of streaming (also known as "webcasting") affords businesses a new way to communicate with large, dispersed groups of customers, employees and business partners. More importantly, streaming allows users to scale the size of their audience dramatically with limited financial impact.

Streaming is the process of delivering information to many users through the Internet via audio, video, or web presentations. These can be used in combination or separately. Streaming can be live or archived for later viewing.

Streaming capabilities and services are designed to scale - operationally and financially - for users that want to conduct an occasional 50-5,000+-person conferencing event. In these situations, streaming is recommended. Formal web registration, participant lists, presenter training and a full suite of post-presentation survey and attendee information is provided for use.

Streaming events are received from the host location and encoded into an appropriate "streamed" format (Windows Media and Real Player) and then sent out from a streaming server. All Streaming Events are accessible via the Internet for as few or as many participants as the presentation topic necessitates.

The streaming process encompasses several components: encoding, synchronizing, and hosting (delivery). Encoding is the process of converting the media to Real Player, Windows Media, or Mpeg formats. Synchronizing is the process of blending the audio, video, and presentation. Hosting is the process of making content (live or archived) available for download via the Internet.
